Mr Nice’s favorite free games for iPod/iPhone
Like any good ipod/iphone owner, I have no qualms about buying a 300$+ device yet when it comes to apps, I’m the cheapest guy around. So here it i, for my fellow touch gamers, a curated list of a few top quality and, most all, FREE touch games.
ENDI Tank Battle
A fun, action packed 3d tank shooter. The controls are a little tricky to get used to but the gameplay is solid.
Liberty Wings
A nice retro (think Snes dog fight games) plane shooter. What’s not to like, it’s free, the graphics are pleasing and the missions are varied. One of the best shooters around.
Rogue Runner
Rogue runner is a nice “runner” type game (you’re constantly moving, shooting while dodging enemy attacks) with an amazing art direction (as you can see on the preview, it’s very 8bit-ish), unlockable characters and levels and constant updates.
Space Deadbeef
Another shooter. This is one a kind of R.type clone with nice graphics, cool attacks, varied enemies and gets really challenging, in true R.type fashion.
Train Yard Express
Trainyard Ex is a nice puzzle game that’s just challenging enough. Your goal is to build train paths to allow trains of various colors to reach their matching stop. Sounds easy?? Try the later levels.
Paper Glider
The perfect time waster for people at work, paper glider challenges you to make your paper plane glide as far as possible. There is a surprising amount of strategy required there.
